CONRAD VAN ORDER PORTFOLIO
ABOUT ME
I am Conrad Van Order, the former producer and on-air personality for JOX PrimeTime, Friday Night Tailgate, The Morning Scramble, The Richard Dixon Show and Woode & Vining at Cumulus Media (WJOX 94.5 and Talk 99.5) in Birmingham, Alabama. I informed and entertained audiences daily by breaking down the news of the day across sports, politics and pop culture while blending it with my own unique sense of humor. In addition to contributing to the on-air discussions, I was responsible for operating the board, running commercials, and posting on the station's social media accounts. Finally, I also created and distributed multiple daily podcasts for the station's online platforms.
I previously worked for CBS 42 News in Birmingham, Alabama, as an Assignment Editor. My primary responsibilities revolved around coordinating news stories and information with reporters, photographers and producers. I also was responsible for writing articles for the station's website and producing content for multiple social media platforms. In addition, I helped shoot live shots, manage live streams and edit video as needed.

I am a graduate of The University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in Telecommunication and Film . The primary focus of my studies and work experience has been within the realm of sports, but I believe my skills, experience and knowledge will translate well to any field of media. I possess experience across multiple forms of media from television to radio to digital journalism.
During my time in school, I interned with Tide 102.9 - FM in Tuscaloosa, where I served as a writer and production assistant. My duties included distributing content via Twitter and SoundCloud, reporting on the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball program, recording and editing audio and screening callers during The Game with Ryan Fowler. I have additional radio experience working on-air with WJOX 94.5 - FM in Birmingham. Finally, I spent a year in television as a reporting and editing intern for WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa, which is in a top-45 market. On the side, I have also written a collection of articles for online publications, such as The Odyssey Online, covering a variety of topics within sports, music and pop culture.

I have a desire to inform and entertain with my work, and believe I can be a valuable asset to any media outlet with my vast knowledge of relevant topics and ability to quickly tackle new responsibilities. I hope to gain a position where I can speak my mind and offer a creative, honest product to the audience.
